Anderson, Mabel E. ‘super nanny’, age 83, a 66 year resident of Patterson, NY, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Carmel, NY.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Kent Cliffs, NY on October 5, 1928 to Chester and Estelle (O’Dell) Barrett. She attended schools in Carmel, NY and later married George W. Anderson. Mr. Anderson died June 7, 1976.

Through the years, Mrs. Anderson had worked at the Kent Nursing Home in Holmes, NY, as well as, raising her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, many travels to Mohegan Sun and Atlantic City and visiting with friends at the office of the aging.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her four children, Lillian Hudson and her husband Albert of Patterson, NY, George W. Anderson and Linda of Wingdale, NY, Sissy Smith and her husband Tom of Patterson, NY and Wayne Anderson and his wife Leeann of Patterson, NY; a brother William Barrett of Patterson, NY and a sister Irene Gilbert of Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Chester, Nelson, Lawrence ‘fuzzy’, and Roy Barrett; two sisters, Gladys O’Dell and Lillian Mathews; a step-brother Clarence Corey and a step-sister Emma Camarco.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 11:00AM at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson. Interment following at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8pm.
