Condolence: My father was a NY City police officer and greatly respected Mr. Durk and his sincere commitment to the calling of serving the public as a police officer. My father didn't work closely with him, but was happy to be an occasional sounding board for then Sergeant Durk. Sadly, my father, Captain Hubert McLoughlin passed away from the same painful disease of mesothelioma. It seems coincidental, but you never know what those committed to a corrupt way of life are willing to do. I salute him as someone brave enough to try to serve principle over expediency and power. People like him make our democratic society stronger.
