McGuckian, Anna C. “Nonnie”, of Carmel, NY, formerly of Patterson, NY, died on Wednesday, February 28, 2013 with her family by her side. She was 86 years old.

Nonnie was born on July 16, 1926 in Astoria, NY to the late John and Josephine (Pilz) Drnek.

She married James E. McGuckian on September 6, 1948 in Manhattan, NY. James predeceased his wife on May 30, 1955.

Nonnie worked for Guidepost in Carmel NY for over 25 year before retiring in 1983.

She is survived by her two sons, Kevin McGuckian and his wife Lorraine of Carmel, NY and Dennis McGuckian and his wife Gabriele of Rye, NY, her sister Josephine Appleby, five grandchildren, Kevin, Michele, Nicole, Stefanie, Caroline and three great grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Kevin. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her siblings, John “Zeke” Drnek, Rose Henderson, Mary Drnek, and William Drnek.

A graveside service will be on Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 11:00am at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Route 311, Patterson, NY. Interment will follow the service. Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY on Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 5 PM- 9 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Nonnie’s memory to the Leukemia / Lymphoma Society.
