Obituary for Richard E. "Hap" Sprague

Richard E. Sprague “Hap”, of Patterson, NY, died at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was 62 years old.
Hap was born in Patterson, NY on February 4, 1951, son of the late David C. and Helen (Burdick) Sprague. He attended Carmel central school. In 1968 he joined the United States Marine Corp where he fought during the Vietnam War. He won several awards while serving.
Richard was a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Patterson after returning from war. He worked for them for 18 years.
Hap loved his motorcycle, and working with heavy equipment.
Besides his mother Helen of Patterson he is survived by his daughter; Nicole Sprague of Patterson, NY, his grandchildren; David Lynch and Alexis Glatz, his sister Janette Morgan of Melbourne, FL. He was predeceased by his son Richard “Ricky” Sprague on July 30, 1999.
A Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2011, 11 AM at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY 12563. Interment will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery. Calling hrs. will be held Fri. from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
