Higgins, Prudence C., age 94, of New Fairfield, CT, formerly of Yonkers, NY, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on July 25, 2014.

Mrs. Higgins was born February 17, 1920 in Yonkers, NY to William V. and Grace (Jones) Lewis.

On January 23, 1936 Prudence married John Higgins in Yonkers. Mr. Higgins died January 11, 1997.

Mrs. Higgins knitted gloves during WWII for the servicemen at the York Knitting Co. in Yonkers. She later assembled jewelry for Victor Monachelli in Yonkers.

Prudence is survived by her two sons; John William Higgins of Wingdale and Raymond Higgins of Lake Carmel, and her brother, Thomas Lewis of Greenville, SC. Also many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 11:00am at Gerow Cemetery, New Fairfield, CT. Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY on Tuesday from 9:00am to 10:30am. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
