Giarratano, Joseph F. “Joe”, of Pawling, New York, died on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at Danbury Hospital Center with his family by his side. He was 70 years old.
Joe was born on March 27, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, NY. He graduated from High School in Mt. Vernon, NY. Joseph joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War.
On July 6, 1999 Joe married Carol Reno in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Mr. Giarratano worked for Verizon Phone Company for 30 years as a service repair technician in Carmel, NY before retiring in 1999.
Joe loved antique cars. He was a judge at the Bedford hills lions club car show for many years. He and his wife enjoyed bowling and riding their bikes together. He enjoyed watching football. Joseph loved his family and friends, he was affectionately known as pop pop.
Joseph is survived by not only his wife but his two children; Matthew (Jennifer) Garity of New Windsor, NY and Tia (Francis) Patterson of Midland Park, NJ, 9 grandchildren and a brother, Frank.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. John’s Church, Pawling, NY. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 7, 2014 at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson.

He will be greatly missed.
