Alexander, Norman, age 69, of Dover Plains, NY, formerly of Beekman, NY, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center.

Mr. Alexander was born February 19, 1945 in Pawling, NY to Peter and Marion (Hughes) Alexander. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1963 and received his associated degree from Western Connecticut State University.

Mr. Alexander married Janet Sue Farrer on February 2, 1967 in Shrub Oak, NY. Janet predeceased him on November 29, 2011.

Norman was a safety coordinator for many years with Lakeland Lumber Company in Shrub Oak, NY, before retiring in 2004. He also owned Norm’s Video in Beekamn, NY from 1983-1993.

Mr. Alexander was a life member of the Beekman Fire Company and a past member of Mohegan Lake Fire Department. He was an avid Mets fan, when his children were young he coached little league. Norman enjoyed cruising,fishing and was a passionate bingo player.

Norman is survived by three children, Carrie Tecl and her husband John of Wingdale, NY, Peter Alexander and his wife Cathy of Carmel, NY and Kim Alexander of Wingdale, NY; a sister, MaryEllen Mihachik of Wappingers Falls, NY; and 5 grandchildren; Kristen Tecl, Johnny Tecl, Kayla Alexander, Lilianna Alexander and Shelby Schlueter. She was pre-deceased by a son Thomas Alexander and a sister Joan Gierisch.

Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY for a memorial wake on Friday from 4 to 7pm. A private cremation was held earlier.
