Arena, Anthony P., age 84, of Pawling, NY, formerly of New Rochelle, NY, died on Friday, November 21, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.

Mr. Arena was born July 14, 1930 in the Bronx, NY to Paul and Rose (Cirrigione) Arena. He graduated from Evander Childs High School in the Bronx and served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. Arena married Elda Chiera on February 5, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Church in New Rochelle, NY.

Mr. Arena was a facilities manager for Tetko, Inc. in Briarcliff Manor, NY for over 20 years, before retiring in 2000.

Mr. Arena spent many an hour with his sons hunting, he enjoyed his aquarium of fish and was an avid model train and car enthusiast, developing quite a collection through the years. Anthony could also be found fixing, repairing or inventing just about anything he happened upon.

Besides his wife Elda, Mr. Arena is survived by his four children, Doreen R. Pircio of Norwalk, CT, Paul A. Arena of Bethel, CT, Donna M. Silva of Pawling, NY and Anthony J. Arena and his wife Gina of Norwalk, CT; a sister, Josephine Durso of Spring Hill, FL; also 9 grandchildren; Alicia, Anthony Pircio, Candida, Anthony Arena Jr., Christiana, Jordan, Gabrielle, Sarah and Michael. He was pre-deceased by his brother Michael Arena and two sisters, Connie Bettini and Rosalie Pollaci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 25, 2014
10:00 am at St. John’s Church, Pawling, NY. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury, CT. Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY on Monday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
