Life Story for Carol L. Kessman

Kessman, Carol L., age 77, of Patterson, New York, died Monday March 7, 2016 at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt. Kisco, NY.

Mrs. Kessman was born June 20, 1938 in Beacon, New York to Albert and Alice (Hoyt) Mitchell. She attended Montefiore School of Nursing in the Bronx.

Carol married Martin R. Kessman on October 25, 1960 in Patterson. He predeceased her on April 3, 2014.

Although Mrs. Kessman was always a registered nurse keeping her license current, she put that aside to have and raise a family and focused on her family the rest of her days. Through the years, Carol and Martin enjoyed traveling and their homes in both Boynton Beach, FL and Grant, FL. She loved the beach.

Carol enjoyed snow mobiling, crossword puzzles and reading. She had a love for roses, having many rose bushes around her property. It was her family that brought her the greatest joy in life, always ready for the family dinners.

Mrs. Kessman is survived by two sons, Paul A. Kessman and his wife Margaret of Patterson and Stephen D. Kessman and his wife Rebecca of Patterson; her brother, William Mitchell of Brunswick, ME; her sister, Michelle Mears of Greensborough, PA; her four grandchildren, Jennifer, Eli, Caleb and Cailin; one great granddaughter Penelope and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Buddy Mitchell and Priscilla Beeck and three grandsons, Douglas Milton Kessman, Gale Everett Kessman and Richard Joseph Kessman.

A graveside ceremony will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at Quaker Hill Cemetery, Pawling, NY. Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
