Donald L. ‘Donnie’ Williams, of Patterson, NY, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was 57 years old.

Donnie was born on September 21, 1958 in Carmel, NY, son of the late Theodore L. and Virginia Williams. He honorably served in the US Navy.

Donnie was the owner and operator of his own contracting business, Don’s Get it Done in Patterson, NY. He never retired and was planning on returning to work.

He loved baseball, especially the NY Mets. Donnie enjoy music and sang karaoke. His biggest passion in life however was helping others, whether it was as a counselor at Arms Acres or being a speaker about AA to local students or inmates.

Donnie is survived by his Aunt Mae Smith of Holmes, NY, Uncle Adolph Williams and his wife Alvina of Patterson, NY, his companion of 3 years Jean McEckron of Patterson, NY, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert ‘Bobby’ Williams on March 23, 1977.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 7 PM at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson. Interment will follow on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 11am at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson, NY. Visitation will be on Friday March 18, 2016 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
