Elizabeth E. Higgs, of Wassaic, NY, died on Thursday July 14, 2016 at Sharon Health Care Center. She was 96 years old.
Elizabeth was born on February 7, 1920 in Danbury, CT, the eldest child of 21 to the late James and Cornelius (Romaine) Thompson. Elizabeth married James Higgs and together they raised four children.
Mrs. Higgs was a physical therapy aid with Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY. She enjoyed baking, square and line dancing and listening to country music. Every Wednesday and Sunday she looked forward to church with Gary Anderson. After church every Sunday she enjoyed the company of her daughter and family for dinner.
Elizabeth is survived by her two children; James Higgs and Patricia Wallen, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and many siblings. She was predeceased by her husband, her son Arthur and her daughter Barbara.
A graveside service will be held on Monday July 18, 2016 at Raymond Hill Cemetery, Carmel, NY. Interment will immediately follow.
