Life Story for Jack V. Carella

Jack V. Carella, of Holmes, NY, died peacefully with his family by his side on March 26, 2018 at Danbury Regional Hospice. He was 92 years old.
Born on May 9, 1925 in Stamford, CT, son of the late Anthony and Rose Carella. He was a Stamford High School graduate. Jack honorably served in the U.S. Airforce during WWII with the 384th Bomb Group as a tail gunner. On April 27, 1958 he married the love of his life Agatha ‘Tina’ Ambrogio in Portchester, NY.
Jack was a service manager with Crabtree Automotive in New Rochelle, NY and Eastman Greenwich Motors in Greenwich, CT for 40 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member, past president and treasurer of the Rye Kiwanis Club as well as a member of the American Legion Post #128. He was a parishioner and past usher at Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY prior to moving to Holmes, NY in 1999.
Mr. Carella is not only survived by his loving wife Tina, but also his children; Rose (Ronald) Stolle of Holmes, NY and Anthony (Theresa) Carella of Stormville, NY, his 4 grandchildren; Lauren, Ronald, TJ and Samantha and his great granddaughter; Giovanna. He was predeceased by his 4 siblings; Peter Carlo, Albert Carella, Daniel Carella and Nancy Skura.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 29, 2018 at 11am at The Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Portchester, NY. Friends and family may call the Dwyer Funeral Home 23 South Street, Patterson, NY on Wednesday March 28, 2018 from 4pm-8pm.
