Obituary for Sue Alexander (Ferrer)

Alexander, Sue, age 72, of Dover Plains, NY, formerly of Lake Carmel, NY, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in Carmel, NY.

Mrs. Alexander was born August 23, 1939 in Yonkers, NY to John and Jeanette (Brophy) Farrer. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and the Mt. Kisco School of Nursing.

Mrs. Alexander married Norman Alexander on February 2, 1967 in Shrub Oak, NY.

Mrs. Alexander was an LPN working for Drs. Bloom, Carr and Kamin in Carmel, NY.

Through the years, Mrs. Alexander was a life member of the Beekman Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a bit of a news sleuth, always sending clippings of the latest news she deemed appropriate to family members. She enjoyed the beach, bingo, shopping, and reading. Traveling by way of Cruises was a favorite. She had a love for all animals including pigs. One would find pigs of many types and styles throughout her home.

Besides her husband Norman of 44 years, Sue is survived by three children, Carrie Tecl and her husband John of Wingdale, NY, Peter Alexander and his wife Cathy of Carmel, NY and Kim Alexander of Wingdale, NY; a sister, Jane Wemett of Mahopac, NY; and 5 grandchildren; Kristen Tecl, Johnny Tecl, Kayla Alexander, Lilianna Alexander and Shelby Schlueter. She was pre-deceased by a son Thomas Alexander and a sister Joan Gierisch.

Friends may call at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY for a memorial wake on Friday from 4 to 7pm. A private cremation was held earlier.
