Zoltan Handrik, age 78, passed away Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 12, 1937, in Hungary, to Gergely and Anna Handrik. He graduated from high school and trade school in Hungary. He immigrated to the United States in 1956, after the Hungarian Revolution, and settled in the Hudson Valley region as a self-employed carpenter.
In1967, Zoltan married Antoinette Delcore in Bloomingdale, New York. They later settled in Patterson, New York where they had two sons, Zoltan Victor, and John. Zoltan Victor predeceased him in 1970. John grew up in Patterson and now lives in New York City with his wife Jessica.. He is also survived by a nephew and grandnephew, both named Laszlo Handrik, and still reside in Hungary.
Zoltan was an avid gardener who is well known for his beautiful vegetable gardens.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
